Special Meeting Minutes for November 8, 2023
Renaissance Community Development District
A special meeting of the Board of Supervisors of the Renaissance Community Development District was held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at the Law Office of Knott-Ebelini-Hart on 1625 Hendry Street, Third Floor, in Fort Myers, Florida.
Present and constituting a quorum were:
Doug Dickey – Chair
Linda Stuart – Assistant Secretary
George Pattee – Assistant Secretary
Chris Bezaire – Assistant Secretary
Also present were:
Cal Teague – District Manager, Premier District Management (PDM)
Tom Hart – Attorney, Knott-Ebelini-Hart
Asher Knipe – Attorney, Knott-Ebelini-Hart
Karen Crawford- Court Reporter, U. S. Legal Support
Melissa Gindling – Assistant District Manager, PDM

The following is a summary of the actions taken at the Renaissance Community Development District (CDD) Board of Supervisors meeting.
FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS Call to Order and Roll Call
The Renaissance Community Development District special meeting was called to order, and District Manager Cal Teague called the roll. Four Board members were present. Also attending were Tom Hart, the Attorney, Asher Knipe, Attorney, Karen Crawford, Court Reporter, and Melissa Gindling from PDM.
SECOND ORDER OF BUSINESS Approval of the Agenda
On MOTION by Chair Dickey, seconded by Supervisor Stuart, with all in favor, the Board approved the Agenda, as presented.
THIRD ORDER OF BUSINESS Board Counsel Discussion of Concert Renaissance Lawsuit
Attorney Hart gave a brief summary of the Concert Golf lawsuit that he had recently received. He also introduced litigation attorney Asher Knipe. He then asked if the Board would like to enter a closed session to discuss the Concert lawsuit.
Melissa Gindling from PDM left the meeting.
On MOTION by Chair Dickey, seconded by Supervisor Bezaire, with all in favor, the Board opened a closed session to discuss the Concert Golf lawsuit at 9:04 a.m.
FOURTH ORDER OF BUSINESS Closed Session for Discussion with District Attorneys on Pending Litigation: Concert Renaissance LLC vs. Renaissance Community Development District civil action no 23-CA-011452
On MOTION by Chair Dickey, seconded by Supervisor Stuart, with all in favor, the Board ended the closed session at 10:13 a.m.
Melissa Gindling from PDM rejoined the meeting.
FIFTH ORDER OF BUSINESS Board Motions for Action from Closed Session
The Board discussed retaining litigation attorney Asher Knipe at a rate of $250 per hour, and they agreed to do so.
The Board also asked staff to send an e-blast to the community regarding the assessment increase to the Golf Course. Attorney Knipe recommended against this, but ultimately the Board asked Attorney Knipe to review the e-blast first, and then have staff send it, which he agreed to do.
SIXTH ORDER OF BUSINESS Supervisor Requests/Comments
There were no Supervisor requests or comments.
SEVENTH ORDER OF BUSINESS Adjournment
On MOTION by Supervisor Bezaire, seconded by Chair Dickey, with all in favor, the Board approved adjournment at 10:22 a.m.
It was stated that there had been no motion to hire Attorney Asher Knipe.
On MOTION by Supervisor Bezaire, seconded by Chair Dickey, with all in favor, the Board approved, going back into open session for, retaining Attorney Asher Knipe at the rate of $250 per hour.
On MOTION by Chair Dickey, seconded by Supervisor Bezaire, with all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 10:24 a.m.
